It’s vacation season! Do you have big trips planned?

As you hit the road, you’re probably thinking more about the fun activities you’re going to do, the family and friends you’re going to spend time with, and not so much about taking care of your braces.

Whether traveling by plane, car, or train, traveling with everything you need to take care of your braces or invisible aligners can be tricky. To make it easier on you, we’ve put together a handy checklist to make sure taking care of your braces on vacation is easy.

Things you need to pack in your bag to take care of traditional braces:

•    Floss for getting in between brackets and wires
•    Travel-sized toothbrush
•    Mouthwash to remove debris after brushing
•    Wax to put on your brackets to prevent poking and rubbing in your mouth

Alternatively, when traveling with Invisalign, you should:

•    Wash your aligners morning and night (use your toothbrush and toothpaste)
•    Soak your aligners in a glass of water with a denture tablet once a day to keep them free of bacteria
•    Keep your current aligners and replacement aligners in your carry-on bag or a backpack that you’ll have with you - in case your bags get lost!
